Plovdiv is nice. You feel a great blow of history and ancient atmosphere. You drink the pure energy of past times. It’s a true paradise to disappear from time’s borders. Many many layers - starting with the Thracian settlement, being established by Romans – it has a lot in common with Italian cities, a great breeched mosque with the stone carving. It’s so empty when you are getting into the old school – museum as it is waiting for us. It’s a good welcoming feeling. People here are very accurate and historically-aware about their own cultural treasure. It’s visible how they save, collect and research the evidences of their own past. Going down the street we popped into souvenir’s store where mostly collected traditional traces from different regions.
Not only powerful stone architecture is made for centuries, they preserve some islands of living traditions. And it’s cool.
